I am slowly getting the differences between v3 and v4 versions.

Just one point regarding the web site, as a new user:
It would be good to have a clear distinction between v3 and v4 related pages: 
For instance http://servicemix.apache.org/tutorials.html  links to v3 tutorials 
(same as http://servicemix.apache.org/old/tutorials.html)

Some links may be corrupted this way.. it's hard to make the difference as the 
layout is identical.

Updating the old web site to a red background would help new users ;)

JBI is more or less deprecated.

I highly advice to use the camel component.

More over, you don't have to use the NMR to normalize the message, etc. 
You can do all in simple Camel routes.
