Hi,

You ask a good question here, this is a known issue and already get fixed on 
Karaf side, take look at related discussion[1] and the jira which track this 
issue[2].

The upcoming SMX 4.5 will use the Karaf which support 64 bit windows service 
wrapper out of the box.
Btw, you can take a look at how KARAF-1010 fixed it, how it change the 
karaf-wrapper.conf, probably you can make it work yourself before SMX4.5 
release
