Maciek,

You can find some background on what we're trying to do with the
ServiceMix 5 development effort in
http://servicemix.396122.n5.nabble.com/PROPOSAL-New-plan-for-Apache-ServiceMix-5-0-td5715705.html

The current plan is to get rid of some of the legacy technology (like
the NMR and JBI layers) and get ourselves something that's easier to
maintain/build/release/... With Apache Camel 2.11.0 currently under
vote, the plan is to follow up with an Apache ServiceMix 5.0.0 release
after that is done. Once we have the basic build and release cycle on
the rails again, we should definitely start looking into adding more
value into the container again. At this point, you could help us out
by giving the 5.0.0-SNAPSHOTs a spin and reporting any issues you find
- feel free to add a patch to the JIRA issues, btw ;)

If you have any suggestions on new functionality or a better
integration between the stuff that's already there, we're always very
interested in hearing about them.

Regards,

Gert Vanthienen
