Hi,

It has been a little while since we had any news about the browser
ballot - I wanted to give everyone an update about what I've been doing
and ask for some help.

==Status==

Right now, the status is the the European Commission had asked
"interested parties" (which includes Mozilla) for comments and the
deadline for those was a couple of weeks ago. The final input is (I
understand) confidential, but a lot of the thinking was inspired by
Jenny Boriss' blog posts on how to make the ballot better. (see
http://jboriss.wordpress.com/ ).

Now, we are waiting to hear if / when the ballot will go live - we know
that we have at least 8 weeks from the European Commission accepting the
proposal to the ballot going live, so we are now working on readiness. I
have been testing different renderings of the Firefox logo with a market
research company, and doing some more background research on what
matters to IE users.

==Can You Help?==

I am also working on a landing page for Internet Explorer users along
with John Slater. This is for people who click "learn more" about
Firefox. And I could definitely use some help. One thing that it would
be great to use would be a couple of quotations from a well known and
respected publication, media outlet or public figure in each country. If
you know of any helpful product reviews or statements published in these
countries:

Austria
Belgium
Bulgaria
Cyprus
Czech Republic
Denmark
Estonia
Finland
France
Germany
Greece
Hungary
Iceland
Ireland
Italy
Liechtenstein
Latvia
Lithuania
Luxembourg
Malta
Netherlands
Norway
Poland
Portugal
Romania
Slovakia
Slovenia
Spain
Sweden
United Kingdom

(this is the European Economic Area - EU plus Norway and Iceland).

Please could you forward them to me, highlighting the best quote
(ideally, translating or explaining it too)! Especially reviews of
Firefox 3.5 or other articles published this year are good.

Maybe we could point him to the Monitor award recently for Firefox 3.5?

I will be looking myself in the meantime.
