Hello,
It's now possible to view and set photos on contacts from SOGo (view
only for now) / Thunderbird. Photos are also fully synced across mobile
devices such as iPhone and BlackBerry (and others) using the Funambol
SOGo Connector.

For it to work in Thunderbird, you must get the latest version of the
SOGo Connector extension which you can get from :
http://inverse.ca/downloads/tmp/sogo-connector-0.101pre4.xpi
More over, you need the MoreFunctionsForAddressBook Thunderbird 2
extensions, available from
http://nic-nac-project.de/~kaosmos/morecols-en.html (Thunderbird 3.1
will not require it).
For SOGo, you must update it and SOPE from the nightly builds.
Finally, you can get the latest Funambol SOGo Connnector from:
http://inverse.ca/downloads/tmp/sogo-connector-0.101pre4.xpi
Note that this version was tested extensively with Funambol v8.5.2 -
which fixes nasty fields inversion present on BlackBerry devices in
previous versions.
As usual, testing and feedback would be appreciated since this will get
included in SOGo v1.3.0 + new extensions.
