The FAQ lists the wrong preference for cleaning the password cache:
http://www.sogo.nu/english/support/faq/article/sogo-caches-my-password-1.html

According to Changelog, this was changed over a year ago:

2009-02-23 Ludovic Marcotte <[email protected]>

        * Combined the various caches and moved the logic
towards the SOGoCache class. Deprecated the
        SOGoLDAPUserManagerCleanupInterval defaults.
Now only SOGoCacheCleanupInterval should be used.

The default value for SOGoCacheCleanupInterval (300 seconds) is too long for our setup, where LDAP passwords can be changed by an external application. Lowering the value to 30 is more reasonable, but limits the usefulness of a cache in the first place.

Is there something better that can be done? Some way to [externally] request SOGo to purge its LDAP password cache?
