Bingo!! Right on the money.

Thanks for saving me many more hours of debugging grief. I thought I had
scoured all the options in the Funambol Android client, but for some reason
never scrolled below the "Reset" section. Strangely enough, I don't recall
seeing this "App Internals" option mentioned anywhere in the Funambol
documentation, either.

Since I use Android 2.1, the Calendar is not available. But once I changed the
Contacts and Tasklist remote names to "sogo-card" and "sogo-todo", the data
made it nicely all the way from my mobile device to SogoWeb and to Thunderbird.
I'm waiting for Samsung to update the Epic to Froyo (Android 2.2), so that I
can use the Calendar as well. Until then CalDavSync appears to be working just
fine.

Now onwards with the migration.
