After the warm welcome I received in the list with hundred of reply here
and personnally to my question about *ERROR: relation "sogo_view" does
not exist*, I'm again here full of love and hope.
Now I'm trying to use the password (md5) of my linux and e-mail users in
SOgo, but the old Linux password (the server is five years old) seems to
be different (maybe really too archaic?) from the SOgo ones, also if in
the .GNUstepDefaults I have
<key>userPasswordAlgorithm</key>
<string>md5</string>
so I'm wondering how I can translate those password to working SOgo ones.
I toke the Linux ones and put them in SOgo with psql like that:
INSERT INTO sogo_view VALUES ('alice', 'alice', 'linux-md5-password',
'Alice Thompson', 'alice-PV5Ro7/[email protected]');
Thanks to enourmous crawd of people and flooding of replies, and maybe
also googleing a bit more, I've found that such password, if not in hex,
has to be translated in hex and so I did with xdd and now, finally, it
doesn't work at all, so I'm wandering what fine, very fine
(F@#!*{#@@@!) reason it has to behave like that.
Please, please, do not answer too many and not all at once.
Hello Andrea,
most Sogo users are apparently using a ldap directory, which then handles
all the authentication etc.
When using a database for authentication, then usually that DB is very
specific to the installation, so this is why there is not much reply.
