Unfortunately, I can't give the definite answer. The Inverse people and/or others might be able to provide much better insight. But when reading your question, the idea of synchronisation via Funambol came to my mind. Although you will probably also need the service-to-service add-on for Funambol to synchronise two backends and I don't know if or how well that works with SOGo.
