Francis, Your suggestions have solved my original problem but now I have another, which may be due to my misunderstanding of something.
I changed the login name to "uid=sogo,ou=users,dc=modernedge,dc=com" and it authenticated properly this time! I actually had not realized that I had to search to trigger any response, but I don't think I would have succeeded before anyway because the short user name gave me errors. Always the small things, eh? However, I'm a little confused by the search results. When I type something into the search box on AddressBook, it appears to be searching the LDAP records: Aug 17 17:48:33 modernedge-linux slapd[3365]: conn=32 op=1 SRCH base="ou=users,dc=modernedge,dc=com" scope=2 deref=0 filter="(&(|(givenName=test*)(sn=test*)(mail=test*)(cn=test*)))" What's confusing me is that when I'm connected via CardDAV it searches the vcards I loaded to the system, which is my intention for the contact system in the first place. I thought that it would search the same data when connected via LDAP as well, just with a different setup method. Am I wrong about this? Or is there just some setting I've missed?
