I have had the same issues. Its annoying when it happens.
Its a long story, but for now what I have done is to use the patch
mentioned in this bug post from inverse

The patch works fine, but its a bit of a pain to implement as you have
to zip up the xpi files and locate and patch the files inside. I haven't
documented the process but will sometime.
The patch wasnt taken up by inverse at the time as it didnt work for
external users somehow, but I've seen no issues in that regard
