Lightning 1.0 will most likely require Thunderbird 7. If that's the case, that's the version we'll support after 3.1.
Hi Ludovic,

I read Thunderbird 7 is scheduled to be launched tomorrow (27/09/2011). Do you have any status update, any news or plans to share and calm us down? :)

Thunderbird 7 will be released after all with an other beta of Lightning.

Not all of our patches have been included but the target is still to get them included in Lightning 1.0 which is set to be released together with Thunderbird 8 in 6 weeks from now.

Thunderbird 8 will likely be considered as ESR - based on https://wiki.mozilla.org/Enterprise/Thunderbird/ExtendedSupport.

So hopefully, if we all, SOGo users, cross our fingers, pray for the holy goat and don't swear in the next six weeks, we should see an ESR version of Thunderbird, together with a first final release of Lightning with our patches in.

Regards,

So for now we should continue to use TB3?
