As you only changed uid and mail entries, these are equivalent.

But are you aware of the open Bug #1471?

Perhaps this double booking occured with a recurring event?

Because of these, resources are not really useful for us right now.

This does sound like or issue. It is only on the recurring events that it seems to do it now that I think about it. Thanks for the heads up on that. I looked in the bug tracker but wasn't sure what exactly to look for.
