It still asks for the password for each element it tries to open with signon.remeberSignons=false (integrator for thunderbird 3 cached the password) and the integrator still doesn't work with some proxy settings: it seems that the only proxy options that work are "No proxy", "System settings for the proxy"[*] and "Manual proxy selection" (as long it's not a socks proxy, in which case it doesn't work).
[*]I'm not sure that works because windows didn't detect the settings and it's using a fixed proxy or because it actually works.
