Thx,
already checked for Zarafa, but it doesn't come with a connector for MS exchange server. The hardware specs of the DS212+ much low the min, requirements of SOGo, so it doesn't make that much sense keep on trying. Instead I'm trying to install Davmail or similar (better???) exchange connector on my DS.

Stefan,

My NAS was very limited, so it was not useful for me. Maybe you NAS is more powerful and will be able to give you an acceptable working solution. Both SOGo and SOPE can be compiled for ARM which is enough for version 1.3x. I do not know for openchange and samba4 which are required for version 2.x.

Since I am using very happily SOGo on more powerful platform I did not look for an alternate solution. QNAP is offering a packaged version of Zarafa that offers similar features and seems to be working of ARM platform, but with much higher requirement than my NAS is offering. You might want to have a look at it if you cannot get SOGo working on your DS212+.

So it's pretty much nonsense
have you tried another groupware solution or is there any lightway solution? But at least I found and wiki how to install chrooted Debian, at least a little of success http://www.synology-wiki.de/index.php/Debian_auf_der_DiskStation (German)

Hi Stefan,

I do not know about Synology NASes, but I got it running on a QNAP 109 (ARM5 CPU 128 MB). I discarded everything in the end due to the load on the NAS - everything was very very slow on a LAN and for a handful of users. But if you're interested it can be done.

I did it with a version 1.3.x of SOGo. I have no idea if it is doable with version 2.x (since you want exchange support), but you'll need to be able to compile source for ARM for all components.

For 1.3.x version install, I recommand a full standard linux. On the QNAP, I either had to install a chrooted Debian or reformat fully to Debian - the QNAP custom linux did not provide all the packages required for ARM. I went with the second option to get full support for compiling.

Hope this gives you enough info to start your endeavor.

Hi folks,
is it possible to run SOGo on a Synolgoy DS211+ NAS?
(DS212+ Marvell Kirkwood mv6282 2.0Ghz ARM Processor (Marvell ARMADA

I've found a related thread but the reslut seems still to be open
http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.groupware.sogo.user/5503/match=arm

Basicly I want to use SOGo to connect to my office's exchange server without starting the VM -> log in via VPN and start Outlook or access the server by
webmail. Opening Thunderbird is the maxium.
So far I'm using davmail, but I'm not that satisfied. If anyone has an better
idea, let me know.

thx
