It provides a Microsoft specific connection protocol on separate ports.
With that SOGo looks like an MS Exchange server.
Thunderbird/Lightning uses IMAP/CalDAV/CardDAV to connect to SOGo.
So Openchange/Samba4 is not used by Thunderbird/Lightning.
