Hello,
thanks for the fast and informative answers.
Based on the manual "You can set ACLs based on group membership" I
thought, login via groups is possible, but as it seems, it isn't.
I will try to use the solution in case 1 (case 2 seems to be more of a
nightmare to maintain) and wait for improvements in SOGoUserSources.
In case you are wondering where SOGo does use LDAP group membership
(groupofnames) - for example:
dn: [email protected],ou=mail,ou=groups,dc=example,dc=com
cn: [email protected]
mail: [email protected]
member: uid=simon.walter,ou=people,dc=example,dc=com
member: uid=peter.pumpkin,ou=people,dc=example,dc=com
member: uid=doobie.skoobie,ou=people,dc=example,dc=com
objectclass: groupOfNames
objectclass: top
objectclass: extensibleObject
This email address can then be used for invitations. Of course your MTA
needs to also be configured to send emails to those members for it to
work as a mailing list type of group.
SOGo does this well. All the members will be sent an invitation.
However, their busy/free info will not be displayed, as the members are
not expanded immediately which would be ideal. As small group probably
is a bad example, but if you want to invite all the company employees,
for example, it's very handy.
Cheers,
Simon
