This sounds to me like the recent bug in 'lightning'
Are you using 'lightning_1.9.1? It's found in the nightlies.
Maybe I'm misreading your problem.

Awesome! Resetting the cache just fixed a long standing issue I had with
events I would create and wouldn't be able to modify later.
