You're trying to install the connector in Firefox not in Thunderbird. You
need to download the connector (as you already did). Then open Thunderbird,
go to "Tools" and then to "Extensions" (I'm not sure about that last
because I have Thunderbird in Spanish). Once you're in the extensions tab
there is a small gear where you can choose to install a extension from disk.
