Thanks for the suggestion.
It works - so I could sync my addressbook from the other Owncloud userid.
The pitty is, that thunderbird apparently takes those credentials from that moment on.
so all the other adressbook and various calendars residing in my main Owncloud userid won't sync afterwards.
As you said - the password is transfered in plain text - so a manual once in a while sync is ok, but I do not want the autosync  to regularly pass on the passwords.

I therefore would expect, that the SOGo Connector does take on board the task to build in a seperate authentication methode.

This Problem relates to the API between ADDONs (like the SOGo Connector) and thunderbird.
This API should allow to pass on secretly the credentials of "what and how to connect to".
I searched in Thunderbird fora and bugzilla but did not find anything like it.
So I think this should be addressed to Thunderbird as well (in Bugzilla??)

Thanks for your hint and support

All Plug-Ins I know use Thunderbird for the authentication part.
This means, they all have one user associated to one server URL in the
password store.

As you already connect to that server with another Plug-In, Thunderbird
will reuse its username and password for SOGo Connector too.

What you can do is using another URL e.g. by setting an alias in your
host file for the same IP.

Or you can give the credential as part of the URL.
syntax:
https://username1:[email protected]/.....
The drawback of this way, you have to set the password in plain text
into the config.

Kind regards,
