ok ...
I realized my mistake after I had committed it. However, the overwrites
were few.
'/etc/apaches/config.d/sogo.conf' simply eliminated the 'http' option
and 'server name'
I've corrected those edits and added 'port 80' and 'server name' to run
both 'http' and 'https'
'/etc/default/sogo' only lists 'PREFORK' and 'USER' options (no change
needed)
As for '/home/sogo/GNUstep/Defaults/.GNUstepDefaults,' I had allowed
this to change previously.
It has been replaced by '/etc/sogo/sogo.conf,' and I've made the few
changes necessary there.
i.e., 'dc=acme' changed to my domain and 'timezone' etc.
I have a ZEG running concurrently as a 'test' machine. It's never been
changed from 'example.com'
However, I have kept the updates on that server as well, and I have the
same error in the web interface: 'Wrong username or password' which
preceded this LAST update (I've had the error for some time)
I would say it has something to do with an encrypted/plaintext password,
but I'm not sure where to start. I'm not sure what configuration file
controls that. I'm using LDAP to authenticate my 'sogo' users.
The ZEG has the default 'sogo1,' 'sogo2,' 'sogo3' users but with the
same error.
I'm probably not asking my question correctly, but I've never been able
to login to the ZEG interface. The 'webmin' login works fine, and I can
see that the passwords are the default passwords (never changed)
I'm only responding to this thread because I thought it might be a
warning to others doing the upgrade.

I allowed the update to overwrite '/etc/apache2/config.d/sogo.conf' and

Mistake...
The mail server works fine with Thunderbird 17ESR but the web interface
gives me "Wrong username or password" I've changed the few items that
were overwritten in the files, but it still gives me the error.
I've seen the same error with the ZEG What am I missing?
I am launching both HTTP and HTTPS in Apache2
If you have a backup, you need to switch back the old sogo.conf or
check the root's GNUstep config:
/root/GNUstep/Defaults/.GNUstepDefaults and if it's fine, you need to
the following:
sogo-tool dump-defaults >/etc/sogo/sogo.conf
then restart sogo service.
It may be helps for you in this situation.
