I am having trouble installing the Openchange part of SOGo on Ubuntu 12.04. The issue I have is that I am using the enterprise samba.com (Sernet) Samba4 packages, and they are actually named differently to the standard samba4 packages. I think because of this, apt-get/dpkg are getting confused about the dependency tree.
I was thinking about doing this same thing on Debian Squeeze. The problem seems to be that openchange depends on "samba4" while the SerNet package provides just "samba." The OpenChange packages are at fault because they should depend on just "samba" but with a version >= 4.0.0 because Debian themselves have said that when the dust settles, there will be only one "samba" package with version 4.x that provides everything. The "samba4" name is temporary.
So would the SOGo/OpenChange maintainers please change their applicable packages to depend on "samba >= 4.0.0 or samba4" so we have the choice, and they're future-proof?
Thank you very much to the SOGo and OpenChange teams!! Sincerely, Sean M.
