Hi, since I read quite some mails with troubles regarding ActiveSync and Android I thought I'd better share this: There is a (fairly) new Android 4+ dav sync solution out there:
http://davdroid.bitfire.at/what-is-davdroid And it is free software (GPLv3). Since SOGo 2.1.2 DavDroid and SOGo work quite well together. The usual drawback is you have only one addressbook available for sync per account - but it's no problem to have multiple sync accounts pointing to the very same SOGo account. It's also possible to sync the usually 'search only' LDAP backed addressbooks (though you might not want that if its really large I expirienced no problems with ours - about 1k entries in size). You may sync any amount of calendars with an account (colors given from SOGo are recognized) but it's not possible to change the sync calendars for any account later. If you need to add one you need to create an additional account or re-create your existing. So far I've not attempted to integrate this in any MDM so I can't say anything about that. The software is still under heavy development and receives regular updates.. but I use it for some months now without problems and the developer was more than helpfull in finding the SOGo but that prevented DavDroid and SOGo to cooperate in older SOGo versions. Note that I'm not part or affiliated with the developers of this program in any way and I'm sharing this information in the hope it is usefull. lg, rupi -- Rainer Ruprechtsberger Volkshilfe Oberösterreich EDV 4020 Linz, Glimpfingerstrasse 48 Tel.: +43 732 3405 123 Mobil.: +43 676 8734 1123 ZVR Zahl: 064371505 Volkshilfe.
