this did the trick, sogoadmin is now a sogo admin..
Setting ended up in ~sogo/GNUstep/Defaults/.GNUstepDefaults
as expected.
I would appreciate any pointers on why / how to make it work if
configured in /etc/sogo/sogo.conf though..
