No auto accepting required neither on SOGo nor Thunderbirds side.
If you are invited within SOGo, then you don't have these buttons.
If you get invited from elsewhere (e.g. from outside your domain) and
don't use the web interface, it will work as expected.

There is also a bug report in SOGos Bugtracker:
