Sorry, but Contacts only can syncronize and display address information. So you can not synchronize calendars with it, that is independant of the protocol used. If you want to see and synchronize calendars, you have to use iCal or Apple "Calendar". For synchronization you can select calDAV there (not CardDAV). Apple "Calendar" will get all calendars from Zentyal/SOGo when you add the account.
