I could not reproduce this.
We use openLDAP as authorization source, but that should not matter for
sending emails.

Could you open a bug report at http://www.sogo.nu/bugs/ please?
Include there, which language and locale settings you use on your SOGo
server.
And provide an example email with that behaviour.
