Samba4 is perfect authentication backend IMO, so no need to re-invent the wheel. Even if you don’t use/need native Outlook support now, you might want to add it later, with samba4 you’d just extend the ldap schema and you’re fine to go. With any other backend (openldap, mysql ..) you’d have to migrate existing users beforehand … this might be a pain since it *could* involve password changes which, if you have 100+ users … Regards M.
