Hi all,

The current version of sogo 2.3 encodes all punctuation characters in utf-8. Example:

subject: Ingenieure als =?utf-8?q?Weltverbesserer=3F?= Gastvortrag zur Technikethik
  =?utf-8?q?Mi=2C?==?utf-8?q?_18=2E?==?utf-8?q?_Jan=2C?= 18
  =?utf-8?q?Uhr=2C?= Aula

In plain text ( decoded with: http://dogmamix.com/MimeHeadersDecoder/ ) is:

subject: Ingenieure als Weltverbesserer? Gastvortrag zur Technikethik
  Mi, 18. Jan, 18
  Uhr, Aula

So - first, there should be ne need to encode the punctuation chars with utf-8 - or did I miss something?

Then the mail goes through mailman:

Subject: [Veranstaltung] =?utf-8?q?Ingenieure_als_Weltverbesserer=3F_Gastv?=
  =?utf-8?b?b3J0cmFnIHp1ciBUZWNobmlrZXRoaWsgTWksPz09P3V0Zi04P3E/IDE4Lj89?=
  =?utf-8?q?=3D=3Futf-8=3Fq=3F_Jan=2C_18_Uhr=2C_Aula?=

Thunderbird renders this as:

[Veranstaltung] Ingenieure als Weltverbesserer? Gastvortrag zur Technikethik Mi,?==?utf-8?q? 18.?==?utf-8?q? Jan, 18 Uhr, Aula

SOGo as:
Ingenieure als Weltverbesserer? Gastvortrag zur Technikethik Mi,?= 18. Jan, 18 Uhr, Aul

-> ?= after Mi, and the missing a in the Word "Aula".

Where to fix the problem? In SOGo ( encoding of punctuation as utf-8 )?
In mailman ( scrambling the utf-8 encoding, during changing the subject line )? In thunderbird and again in SOGo ( not able to decode the subject )?

Regards,

Konrad
