Hello, I recently started to use SOGo. I had problems with
transfering some folders from my old mailbox to the new
server. I found out this was caused by a point in the folder
name. For example, I can't use a folder like sogo.nu
        <http://sogo.nu>.

You can create a folder with a point on the server by using a double escape of 2e.  For example (assuming a Linux command line, create the folder with maildirmake for a maildir folder): maildirmake .sogo\\2enu will give you a folder named sogo.nu.

Notice that all folders begin with a point and you don't escape that first one.
