Dear sogo users,

I would like to give feedback on the use of SOGo calendars, and I need some basic help to learn / contribute to the SOGo project.

First : is it here the right place for that ?

Basically the features (new event, repetition, invitation...) work quite well on the SOGo web interface.

However, as soon as using a client (Thunderbird, iPhone...) things become more complicated.

I tried several months the ActiveSync features. The configuration on client device is quite easy, but unfortunately it is not stable and uses a lot of server resources. So I wanted to step back to CalDAV and CardDAV.

The SOGo xpi for Thunderbird is difficult to handle. Depending on the version of Thunderbird and on the OS (I tested Windows and Linux), once it works / once it does not work at all (= no agenda is showing up) / once it works partially (the configured address book properties are deleted after a restart). I could not find any hint how to troubleshoot (by the way, where to start looking ?)

I tried to go with alternatives such as CalDAV provider with TSync and manually set up the CalDAV and CardDAV accounts. Sometimes it syncs, sometimes not with a big exclamation mark. Coming to the invitations it looks like a disaster.

The last test I investigated further is iPhone client with native CalDAV support. After one day of work, it does not sync anymore (I am even not sure it had synced once). Looking deeper into the log I noticed http 501 208. Using curl I found out "XML entity expected for WebDAV REPORT" which tends to show that SOGo does not comply with IETF.

As a conclusion I have a lot of experience to share with the community, but I do not know where to start. I could even not find how to browse this mailing list archives, to see if these issues had already been addressed by somebody else. Could anybody guide me where to start ?

Bruno
