Up until now, while deploying thunderbird to my users, I bundled the extensions along the executable. Now that this method is not working anymore, I'm trying to use policies to install the sogo extension.

For new users I also create a default profile with a minimal prefs.js so that they don't have to configure anything.

That works but I have some problems:

1) the address book and the calendars only appear the second time thunderbird is started (I suppose because the extension still isn't available the first time).

2) due to 1) (I suppose) thunderbird auto creates a local (disabled) calendar and local address books

Is there a way to avoid both issues?

Bye
