To finish this up, this was the problem! I found the file in SOPE and made a pull request in GitHub to address this issue. It is tested and works with this shitty mail server. I also opened a ticket there, but I have little hope.

Thank you so much! This will probably be the problem! Since I cannot alter the answer from the mailserver, I would like to modify the snippet you provided by adding the needed space there.
