Dear SOGo Community,
I’m excited to share that our recent migration to SOGo has been a
success! The transition went smoothly, and users are already enjoying
the improved performance and reliability of the system.

As you continue to enhance the new version, I’d like to bring attention
to a small but important issue: appointment status is not currently
displayed or editable in the webmail interface.
While I understand this may be a known limitation, I wanted to highlight
it because it’s a feature that’s both intuitive and standardized.
According to RFC 5545 (Section 3.8.1.11 – Status), the STATUS property
is a core component of calendar events.
Unfortunately, in our current SOGo5 setup, users cannot view or modify
the status of an appointment directly through the webmail
interface—despite the data being present in the underlying calendar.
This creates a gap in usability, especially when managing meeting
confirmations, cancellations, or updates. I’m genuinely surprised this
hasn’t been implemented yet, given the widespread adoption of the
standard and the clear user benefit. I hope this feedback helps
prioritize a future update to improve status visibility and editability
in the web interface.

We continue the "SOGo Community of Practice" (CoP) format and offer
another session on Wednesday, 15.04.2026 at 10 AM, via Big Blue Button:
https://webconf.hrz.uni-marburg.de/n/rooms/bch-3w8-suw-mgy
Feel free to join, if you are interested to talk about using SOGo.
We will stick to English form the very start :-)
I will follow up with a reminder for the session, including an agenda, a
few days before the call. Last time, the colleague from Chemnitz
mentioned he could maybe showcase his 2FA solution. If not, I also have
further ideas to talk about in the SOGo context (e.g.
(container)-orchestration, sogo-tool usage, etc.).
If anyone has further topic to talk about, feel free to reach out to me.
You can also meet me in Chemnitz briefly before the CoP call:
https://chemnitzer.linux-tage.de/2026/en/programm/vortraege
https://chemnitzer.linux-tage.de/2026/en/programm/beitrag/131
