Hello François,

we use it in our company (~ 400 employees), however, “resource” in our context
means “meeting room”. Our “resources” come from an OpenLDAP directory (and so
do our users, groups etc.). In our sogo.conf we have the following

  SOGoUserSources = (
   {
     type = ldap;
     CNFieldName = cn;
     UIDFieldName = cn;
     IDFieldName = cn; // first field of the DN for direct binds
     baseDN = "ou=resources,dc=example,dc=com";
     bindDN = "cn=admin,dc=example,dc=com";
     bindPassword = "p4ssw0rd";
     KindFieldName = location;
     MultipleBookingsFieldName = Multiplebookings;
     canAuthenticate = YES;
     scope = sub;
     displayName = "LDAP-Ressources (Rooms)";
     hostname = "ldaps://ldap.example.com";
     id = ldap-resources;
     isAddressBook = YES;
   }
)

We imported the calResource LDAP-Scheme as described in
https://wiki.sogo.nu/ResourceConfiguration.
The “Multiplebooking” field in the LDAP object is an integer, defining how many
bookings a ressource can have in parallel (we have “1” - because a meeting room
should not host more than one meeting :) )
I didn't find more documentation on the “KindFIeldName” property. At least A
value of “Location” displays the resource n the calendar with a “door” icon →
Maybe there is “vehicle” etc - we didn't check that.

The resource “behaves” like a user, that means you can create an appointment an
“invite” the ressource. If the ressource is free, it will automatically
“approve” the appointment.

Hope That Helps,

Best regards,

Alexander Mischke

Hello to the Sogo community,

I’m a new user and I realise som tests to know if sogo can answer to my pro
needs. Indeed, we search to quit Google calendar solution and I hope it will.

I call ressource calendar, calendars we create and we belong but is not the
personal calendar. Maybe there is another name for it, please let me know.

I want to use ressource calendars for meeting room or cars and allow colleagues
to invite them. It allows to book a ressource. The legitimate owners of those
secondary calendars is the secretary which can check the availability of the
ressource.

According to my test, my colleagues cannot invite ressource calendars even if I
share those calendars with them.

I have found a workaround, I organize an event in this ressource calendar and
invite myself. I am not satisfied with this solution.

Is someone know if I missing something ? Is there a solution ?

Thanks in advance for any time you can spend to answer me.

Bests regards,
