I assume you just did a drag and drop into the email.All iDevices from Apple then create an inline image of the file, not an attachment. Which means that "attachment" will only be included and therefore visible in the HTML part of the email.
SOGo always displays the first part of an email which is usually the plain text part.
There is a Setting in "Preferences" --> "Mail" --> "General" called "Hide attachments for inline images" this must be disabled, in order to see the attachment.
