: We have an engineer already looking into this, but I figured a community : post wouldn't hurt... : : For those of us currently stuck on 9.8.x who do not make use of Tika : functionality in any way but need to upgrade or remove Tika as part of : vulnerability management, is there a documented or official way to : disable/remove the Tika packages from the installation?
Isn't that just a matter of deleting modules/langid and modules/extraction if you don't use them? Tika is not a dependency of any core solr functionality -- just those two modules. If you don't explicitly enable either of then the JVM doesn't even know those jar files exist. 'rm -r' is just piece of mind at that point If you run solr via container it's a 2 line Dockerfile :) -Hoss http://www.lucidworks.com/
