No, my firewall does not know who is valid and yes I'm well aware of the extra work that it is causing our servers. I long ago recommended that we cut out use of the Checkpoint server and set up our anti-spam proxy to be the front end since it can query the internal mail server to see if a particular user is valid. However, management is not too fond of the idea of ditching the Checkpoint security server and isn't convinced that the time needed to make this change is really worth the benefits. So, I'm stuck with what I have.
