"Transport endpoint is not connected, continuing"?

I just had some spam slip through ... I checked my maillog and saw the 
following error that seems to be related to the spam message (using 
msgid to correlate)...

Nov  7 20:24:02 linux spamd[18221]: error: Insecure dependency in eval 
while running setuid at 
/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/Mail/SpamAssassin/PerMsgStatus.pm
line 1669, <GEN831> line 228._ Transport endpoint is not connected, 
continuing

When I processed the spam manually, SA identified the message as spam.
I'm using SA 3.0.1 on RH Linux 8.0 with perl 5.8.0.
Any thoughts?
