Do you use SuSE 9.x? They install spamc and spamd not in the same directory as ist default to 3.0.x You hav also to change /etc/sysconfig/spamd because there are obsolet options ( -a ) in the SuSE startup. Also they disable then network test ( -L ) That means you ar startung the wrong / old ones.
