This is a follow up to last weeks post. I found that one of my custom rules was causing my server to bog down and process real slow.
It started again today, so I started deleting rules one-by-one to see what happened.
I deleted the Mangled rule and instantly things improved 100%!
Any ideas or thoughts on this?
As a bit of a more verbose explanation than Chris's message, yes, a rule can bog down SA.
However, you've told us nothing about the rule, so there's no way to explain why it might have bogged you down. Regular expressions can be simple and fast, or complex and slow. It's very possible to create an outrageously slow regex if you try hard enough.
This is a second reason (besides possible exploit) that spamd defaults to not allowing rules in user_prefs files.
