Yes! You should be able to add these directly to the config file in the same way you are (I believe) currently adding them to the built-in registry.
Also, is the /etc/rulesdujour directory similar to /etc/mail/spamassassin whereby it will read all the files in that directory rather than just a specifically-named one?
