Earthlink isn't the only ones, I caught vz doing that to me just this 
past week.  When I called to object, they claimed they had no control 
and that I had to have done it myself as those are password protected 
settings.

I told them I hadn't as I don't get my mail via their useless web 
interface anyway, but that if I had a feature turned off, I damned well 
expected it to stay turned off.  They got huffy but they'll get no 
apology from me.  Jerks.  Their pop3 server is still using cleartext 
logins, and the mail itself is sent in the clear!

People having trouble with vz bouncing email to me should add the word
'online' between the 'verizon', and the dot which bypasses vz's
stupid bounce rules.  I do use spamassassin too. :-)
