I setup mail relay with my ISP to insure that when I'm on long trips (can be
as long as 3 months), mail to my domain is not returned to senderrs as I'd
normally shutdown the network. When I get back I'd run a scrip that telnets
to my ISP (port 25 of course) and run etrn for my domain.
What happens here is that since my ISP now is the sending box (not the
original spammer), the points that would have been awarded to an email
coming from a known SPAM IP address is lost. Sometimes this score is
normally the difference between SPAM and safe email. You can imagine that
after 3-months of yoga in the bush, there might be quite some e-mail waiting
and definitely some SPAM as well. This is why I'd like to check the second
Received: header in order to award an email its rightfull points.
I hope I explained myself better this time around.
Cheers,
tkb.
