Evan, you are of course, right about providing more info.  I have always had 
the following in spam.whitelist.rules:

From:           192.168.100.    no
From:           127.0.0.1               no
FromOrTo:       default yes

MS version is 4.56.7-2.  I also have the latest version of MailWatch 
installed.
