As I understand it, the cpanel/exim blackhole setting for the default

This feature has absolutely nothing to do with what spamassassin thinks
of your message.
It also has absolutely no affect whatsoever on email that's sent to your
real email address. It only affects email going to the "default"
address..
That said, I'm not much of an expert on cpanel, nor exim.
Okay... I see. So since that mail is addressed to a valid email address
it
is being sent on through to my inbox.
So, is there any way to get Spamassassin to do more than just mark it? Is
there a way to get it to delete it or at least send it somewhere besides
my
inbox?
No. There is not. This is not SpamAssassin's job. SpamAssassin's job is to
provide a score so that you can deal with the messages marked spam and ham
differently as appropriate.
IMAO you should never discard all "spam" out of hand. Mismarked messages
do happen. So you should make a quick scan of the spam folder to which
spam is directed before you delete it all. Only the low scoring messages
need to be dealt with.
(I do this using SpamAssassin provided markups with this markup rule:
rewrite_header Subject *****SPAM***** _SCORE(00)_ **
(I can sort into the spam folder on the "*****SPAM*****" part of the
marked up subject. Then I can sort the spam folder alphabetically and
see the low scores very easily. This makes catching any mismarked messages
quite easy.)
