Is it spam for male enhancement products? An "herbal king" spammer
was sending untold millions a day from a botnet using the sender
address [EMAIL PROTECTED] We were getting as many as 3 million
backscatter per day to that address. Think about it-- a minority of
the targets were invalid recipients, and of those a minority were on
systems that accept and then mail a bounce-- and it was 3 million!

We got off relatively easy because the address is not and never was
a valid address. They all stopped at the RCPT command. But just
taking all the connections was getting insane. This went on for over
a year but has almost stopped in the past few weeks. We're down to
5,000 or fewer per day. I doubt the spammer is out of business.
Somebody else must be getting all the backscatter.
