This has only started recently, certainly this year. I am seeing a large number of messages saying spam acl condition: error reading from spamd socket: Connection timed out
The CPU usaging of spamd is also rather high 22282 ? R< 23:23 spamd child 22369 ? R< 21:20 spamd child And it is taking 2 hrs or much more to complete the sa-compile that I do every morning with sa-update and sa-update --channel sought.rules.yerp.org Not sure if these are related of course, but I am seeing remote sites timing out before spams finishes, and the mail not being delivered, or very delayed. If I restart spamd it seems to improve for a while. I have changed the number of children and the number of connection, and the priority with little discernable effect. Am I expecting to much? What can I do to investigate what is responsible? Machine is Debian, running exim4.69 and spamassassin 3.2.5 on Perl 5.8.8 build from sources and not the Debian packages. CPU is Via 500MHz Any help appreciated ==John ffitch
