no problem on freebsd 7.3 i386, perl 5.10, compiled rules.
1.3.3.updates.spamassassin.org => 1083147
Hmmm. I'm not seeing any obvious common thread with my admittedly
untrained eye then.
I just deployed two fresh virtual machines (RHEL6 32 bit, RHEL6 64 bit -
kicks perl up to 5.10.1), grabbed spamassassin from Redhat's repository
(3.3.1) installed the latest re2c, enabled the relevant plugin, did an
sa-update... and got the never ending loop behavior on *both* of the
machines when I feed it any phrase that matches any of the __PILL_PRICE
rules.
For giggles, I also installed spamassassin on one of my workstations
running Debian unstable (32bit, perl 5.10 it looks like - all relevant
packages installed from Debian's repositories), and got the same
never-ending loop behavior.
If anybody wants more specific details on any of the setups or wants me
to try any other permutations, let me know. (I guess it doesn't really
matter what specific combination of things causes the issue, but I'm
still sort of curious).
