Hi Alvaro,

it seems this issues is related to the Java version and the Flink wrapper –
which Java version are you using?

Is the processor working when using the plain JVM wrapper instead of Flink
(e.g., by creating the skeleton using the Maven archetype)?

Dominik

Hello Patrick,

Thanks for your prompt reply.

We have build a few components (adapters, processors and sinks), which seems to
work fine.

But this specific one we are getting the following error when we try to start
the pipeline.

"ERROR o.a.s.c.a.InvocablePipelineElementResource - Could not invoke pipeline
element Processor due to the following error: Unable to make field private
static final long java.util.Properties.serialVersionUID accessible: module
java.base does not "opens java.util" to unnamed module @6950ed69
"

The adapter is working as it should (in this case we are using the standard
mqtt client), I can see the data in the live preview but the processor shows no
data.

But are connected and streaming directly as you can see below.

                .requiredStream(StreamRequirementsBuilder
                    .create()
                    .requiredProperty(EpRequirements.anyProperty())
                    .build())

And streaming the output directly also:

                .supportedProtocols(SupportedProtocols.kafka())
                .supportedFormats(SupportedFormats.jsonFormat())
                .outputStrategy(OutputStrategies.keep())
                .build();

This is just a test processor, but I really would like to understand what is
wrong with it to better understand the StreamPipes ecosystem.

We're also using a standard dashboard sink.

The logs shows no errors.

I have looked in the class *Program that extend FlinkDataProcessorRuntime and
implements Serializable.

"private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L"

Seems to be ok.

Do you have a guess why it can't find the constant.

Thank you very much

Best regards

Alvaro

Hi Alvaro,

I port this to the dev mailing list.

Could you please provide more details what your trying to achieve and where
exactly the error occurs?

Cheers

Hello Patrick,

my name is Alvaro, I'm a Software Engineer at EDI GmbH. We are currently
preparing the production environment for StreamPipes, which has been going fine
so far. I have recently written to your Forum because I had a question and it
was great, I could solve the problem with the answer I got.

Speaking to Mohanad here at EDI he suggested that you could help me solve one
problem that we're currently having. We are producing a few components and
we're getting an error which I haven't been able to debug. The error is:
"Unable to make field private static final long
java.util.Properties.serialVersionUID". I've tried to set "serialVersionUID" as
public, I've tried to set a new value but haven't had any luck so far. Do you
have any idea where I could be going wrong?

I hope it is fine that I contacted you directly.

Best regards,

Alvaro
